THE REST AND PEACE OF GOD

THE REST AND PEACE OF GOD

Prov 16:7 When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. NKJV

You cannot say there are no trouble in the world today, because before corona virus, people were struggling on how to survive and meet up. Even with the struggling to feed and stay alive, some people where carrying heaven burden that you wonder how they are surviving. When you hear their story, you will wondering if you are on the same planet with them.

The bible says that when God gives you rest and peace, even your enemies cannot fight you neither will they find any reason to harm you. In a time like this where people are looking for how to survive, how to feed, how make money, how to build, how to invest and succeed. You will be at peace, refreshed, fully contented and flourishing.

Somebody will ask is it possible not to have big big trouble in this world? Beloved, whatever the bible say, you cannot add to it not can you subtract from it, it is just as God has said.

Matt 11:28-30 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” NKJV

There is a rest of God for His people, hallelujah! Until you experience it, it will only sound like Greek to you. A strange talk but it is real.

God promised that he will give Solomon rest as a king even before he was born and God fulfilled it.

1 Chron 22:9 Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies all around. His name shall be Solomon, for I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days. NKJV

1 Kings 5:4 But now the Lord my God hath given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrence. KJV

1 Kings 4:25 For he had dominion over all the region on this side of the River from Tiphsah even to Gaza, namely over all the kings on this side of the River; and he had peace on every side all around him. NKJV

How can a man’s ways please the Lord to get the peace and rest of God?

  1. Faith in God: You must have faith in God to give you peace and rest. You must be born again

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. NKJV

  1. Obedience to God and one’s parents: (both spiritual and physical)

Col 3:20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord. NKJV

  1. Walking worthy in the Lord: living like Christ in character and behavior

Col 1:10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; NKJV

  1. Giving to God’s work and others

Phil 4:18-19 Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. 19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. NKJV

Ps 1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.  For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish. KJV

Ps 1:1-3

Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. 2 But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. 3 bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. 4 But not the wicked! They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind. 5 They will be condemned at the time of judgment. Sinners will have no place among the godly. 6 For the Lord watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.
