THE LAW OF POWER
Isa 40:31 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. NKJV. Gal 6:7-8 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. NKJV
Every living being must know that emotions and sentiments does not move God neither will begging or sacrifice. What moves God is a careful and intentional application of His laws that covers that area. God’s laws control the universe, there are spiritual laws and there are natural laws. The spiritual laws controls all natural laws and the natural laws mirror the spiritual laws in their operations. Prosperity, wealth, success, health and peace of mind comes from a careful application of the laws that govern creation. The laws of God that govern the universe is the same everywhere, the law of gravity in London is the same law of gravity in Nigeria, and there is no difference. Last week we looked at the law of Faith, the law of love, the law of mercy and the law of Holiness.
Today we will look at the laws of power.
1. The law of power. Everyone wants the power of God to perform some certain functions in their own lives and in the kingdom. This is one of the greatest needs in the word today. Because of the need for God’s power evil has increase exponentially. People need power to heal sicknesses and diseases, power to make wealth, power to influence, rule and lead others, power to change natural order, situations and circumstances to favor them. People need power for businesses, marriages, creativities and innovations. The power of God will not be given to everybody who ask for it because of the result it brings. It is only given to those who are called, qualified and worthy of using it. When you are qualified by God to be worthy to use it, you will still need to apply the law before it can work for you. The law of power says that you must wait on the lord until you are empowered by God through the Holy Spirit. It is only those who are called by God to wait on Him that receive strength and power. Luke 4:1-2 Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2 being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry. NKJV. We see here that when Jesus received the baptism of water and the Holy Ghost, He was led into the wilderness to fast without food for forty days and while in the fast he was tempted by the devil. Notice that Jesus did not perform any miracle yet but was led of the spirit into the forest to wait on the Lord for 40 days without food but water only. It was only after he had waited on the lord for forty days that power was given to Him to perform miracles, signs and wonder. Luke 4:14-15 Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region NKJV. Power comes after observing the law of waiting. Waiting can be with fasting or without fasting. The important thing is that the Holy Spirit leads you on what you must do. Acts 1:4-5 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now NKJV. Jesus told His disciples that the next assignment cannot be done without waiting in Jerusalem. There was a next level to their assignment. Therefore, for them to achieve that level there was a waiting to be done by the disciples. Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” NKJV. Jesus said to them to enter your next level, to function in your next level of assignment as my witnesses, to be witnesses of me, to be my representative, to do what I have done and to even do more, you must observe the law of waiting, which are 1. The Holy Spirit must lead you. 2. You must wait according to how you are led to wait with fasting or without fasting. Whenever God gives His power to people it is to do something for the kingdom to His glory. May we receive the power of God as we wait on Him.
