COVENANT IS THE REASON FOR THE BLESSING
Gen 32:10-11 I am not worthy of all the unfailing love and faithfulness you have shown to me, your servant. When I left home and crossed the Jordan River, I owned nothing except a walking stick. Now my household fills two large camps!
Covenant with God is what takes a man from zero to wealth. Remember God is a covenant keeping God. Today we call it relationship with God; some call it fellowship with God, the important thing, is that it’s a working relationship that guarantees God’s presence with the person always. Emmanuel
The blessing of the Lord is the spiritual presence of God with a person that cause the person to succeed, prosper, and excel above others in all areas of life. It is a covenant relationship between God and man that enables a person to achieve all that will makes him to succeed, increase in all things, prosper, have peace, protection and security all around. The blessing of the Lord can increase a poor man to become a rich man. Like the case of Jacob
Gen 28:2-4 Arise, go to Padan-aram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother’s father; and take thee a wife from thence of the daughters of Laban thy mother’s brother. 3 And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people; 4 And give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee; that thou mayest inherit the land wherein thou art a stranger, which God gave unto Abraham. 5 And Isaac sent away Jacob: and he went to Padan-aram unto Laban, son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob’s and Esau’s mother.
When Jacob left the father and mother to escape to Padanaram from his brother Esau, he went away empty handed, he left without a pin of his father’s property. He was poor and penniless

Therefore, the Lords blessing is not in physical and material things we call blessings today that many people are pursuing, killing for and dying to acquire. It is in God being with you in a covenant relationship
Gen 28:12-16 And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.
Jacob left his parents empty handed without any property but God was with him and gave him His promise to Abraham.
Gen 32:13-15 And he lodged there that same night; and took of that which came to his hand a present for Esau his brother; 14 Two hundred she goats, and twenty he goats, two hundred ewes, and twenty rams, 15 Thirty milch camels with their colts, forty kine, and ten bulls, twenty she asses, and ten foals.
Jacob left his father empty handed but came back rich even though he was a slave or servant to Laban.
That is why your family’s poverty or wealth, village, certificate, your position or rank does not determine the blessing of God upon your life, it is your covenant relationship with God in righteousness that will determine what kind of blessing that your life will carry.
Luke 12:29-31 “And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. 30 For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. 31 But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. NKJV
They key to God’s blessings is to seek the kingdom first. To follow, pursue, chase and find the ways of God
