BEWARE OF THE DANGERS OF DOING NOTHING
Matt 24:45-47 45 “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. 47 Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods.
Rev 22:12 And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.
This morning I want to just share with us what I believe is the heartbeat of the Lord this morning. Every born again child of God has one assignment or two we must do for God while we are still alive on earth. Your eternity will only be enjoyable based on the work you did, how well you did it while you are alive. Your glory and greatness in eternity, your reward and crown in eternity will be based on two premises.
1. What you did
2. How well you did it.
To motivate us to, to help us to achieve the purpose, the assignment He has given to us do for His Kingdom. God, gave promises of prizes for all those who will do their jobs, all who will do their assignment, do their work diligently with great rewards. Now, the question today is this, did He need to reward us after he has saved us from our sins? We were all going to hell, we were all going to die, we were all going to be banished from the presence of God for eternity which is the second death- the real death. But still in His mind, He promised to reward us for our works. We shall be rewarded. Praise God, Amen. He did not need to reward us because we’re doomed because of sin. But yet, he promised to reward all those who did their jobs faithfully and diligently. But that is if we do the assignment he has given us. Why? So that will be motivated to greatness. So that you and I will be motivated to attain greatness in eternity. In every sphere of life, the reward system has always been based on two things.
1. Obedience to the given instruction
2. Effort on the given instruction
Putting it simply, you are rewarded based on what you have done with what you were given to do and how well you did it. In other words, spiritual rewards are based on obedience and effort applied to the given tasks, duty or assignments. Whether you are working as a nurse, you are working as a banker, you are working as a teacher, you are working as a seller, whatever job you are given to do, the premise on which you will be rewarded and awarded is based on number one, obedience to the given instruction. Number two, the efforts on the given instruction. Obedience to the given instruction and efforts on the given instruction. Everyone has an assignment to perform in the kingdom of God, or in the house of God. When the master comes will He find you doing yours? Now, in the present reality, in the midst of this Covid-19 pandemic. And the new dawn of our realities that we have to deal with and adjust our lives to, which work are you doing for God to advance his kingdom? Even if the physical church is still under lock and keys, even though the physical church is not open yet for business especially in your locality. Wherever you are all over the world, you must understand that the kingdom business must go on. globally, it is a Divine Principle that when you labor, you are rewarded. You can get this principle from scriptures. When Apostle Paul was trying to describe the work of faith of father Abraham, he gave us a scripture, Rom 4:4-5 When people work, their wages are not a gift, but something they have earned. When you labor you earn wages. In the kingdom of God this is the road to greatness. In the kingdom of God when you labor you attain to greatness. The Bible says for the suffering of Jesus Christ for the shame he had to bear for all the things that he had to pass through going to the cross, for the shame of the cross. So has God highly exalted Him above every name. Jesus labored for the position is holding today and He has also admonished us, He has also encouraged us that as many as will follow his footsteps, they will have great rewards. This is the road to greatness. What makes some men to be rewarded and others unrewarded even when all men are given equal opportunities, is based on these two premises. Obedience on the given instruction and effort on the given assignment. We are all given equal opportunities, we all have 24 hours of the day. As long as you have breath, as long as you have life. You are given equal opportunity to do the work of the kingdom, to move the Kingdom forward. I’m asking what makes some men Great? What makes others fail? Because some men are great, while others are not. What is the difference? What creates this difference? You will see in the following scripture that we are going to read, Luke 19:13 So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas, and said to them, ‘Do business till I come. 15 “And so it was that when he returned, having received the kingdom, he then commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. 16 Then came the first, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned ten minas.’ 17 And he said to him,’Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.’ 18 And the second came, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned five minas.’ 19 Likewise he said to him, ‘You also be over five cities.’ 20 “Then another came, saying, ‘Master, here is your mina, which I have kept put away in a handkerchief. 21 For I feared you, because you are an austere man. You collect what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.’ 22 And he said to him,’Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I was an austere man, collecting what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow. 23 Why then did you not put my money in the bank, that at my coming I might have collected it with interest?’ 24 “And he said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina from him, and give it to him who has ten minas.’ 25 (But they said to him, ‘Master, he has ten minas.’) 26 ‘For I say to you, that to everyone who has will be given; and from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.
Look at this verse 19, look at what he was saying. They were all given an equal amount of money, time and opportunity to excel. They were given an equal amount of money and the same time to trade. No one was given a different time and nor were they given a different circumstance, the instruction was go and trade. When they called them to give an account, some did excellently well, while one did nothing. The ones that did well were compensated and rewarded, according to how they perform. Remember you are rewarded, according to how you perform the assignment and how well you perform the assignment. It’s very clear here, the one that got one and created 10, got 10 cities as reward, the one that received one and created five more got five cities as reward. The servants that did well were compensated and rewarded, according to how they perform, but the one that did nothing. He did not do anything with his mina, he was the one that was rebuked and he was the one that was cast out. May we not be cast out in Jesus name. Was he not given equal opportunity like others I ask you this day? Was his own case different? Was his condition different? Was the anointing, the power, the opportunity and the atmosphere that was given to him to do business was not the same with the others? It was the same. So I ask you this morning, why did he fail? Why did he not do something with what he was given? So I throw that question to you this morning. Why are you not doing something with what you have been given? Why are you not doing something with what you have been given? Why are you sitting down and folding the gifts, the talents and the money that God has given to you in a handkerchief and keeping it and you are sitting idle. For some of you are afraid. I rebuke the spirit of fear over your life in the mighty name of Jesus. I command boldness to come upon your life in the mighty name of Jesus, I command you to go out there and succeed in the mighty name of Jesus.I command every obstacle and hindrance that is blocking your way right now to be uprooted from your way in the mighty name of Jesus. I command a holy anointed to come upon you right now in the mighty name of Jesus, you will succeed. I say success is your portion in the mighty name of Jesus. Hear me child of God, every one of us as an assignment that has been given to us to do in the kingdom of God as our business. We have an assignment. At the end of our lives, or at the coming of Jesus Christ, we will all give account of what we have done with our talent, the gift and the money our Master has given to us to do as a business for Kingdom. Some of us are doing good business with our talents, skills and money, while others are doing nothing with theirs. I came to address those who are doing nothing yet, or those who used to do but are not doing anything now and those who are not doing anything at all. Beware of the danger of doing nothing. We are talking about the danger of doing nothing. Listen to me. It is time to be committed again. It is time to be serious with the work of God and His kingdom. Even if the church is not physically open yet in your state or in your country. But as long as there is no lock-down, there are no restrictions there, then souls there must be saved. There is much to be done. If you say you cannot preach then share tracks. If you cannot share tracks, Pray. Spend time to pray for souls. Spend time because if you look at the servants. Each of the 10 were given equal opportunity, they were given equal time, equal conditions, equal responsibility. Others traded and one among them earned 10 minas, and his became eleven minas. Child of God lock-down has nothing to do with it. As long as the government has opened the doors for business to transact, and you are coming in contact with people you must do the business for the kingdom. In this period of pandemic we cannot tell who will cross over to 2021. We don’t know if we will survive. Look at the news all over the world, men are dying but they entered into this year with hope and believing that there was no way they would not cross over into 2021. But look at the thousands that have died right now if you look at the general figures of the people who have died so far it is crossing above 600,000 all over the world. These are men and women who entered into 2020, not thinking that they were going to be caught shot. Hello, and the majority of them are not saved. Listen, God is not happy about this. These souls must be saved. Souls must be worn for Christ before they enter into the other side of eternity. As long as people are still dying from the pandemic or other diseases, as long as souls are perishing souls must be saved. Rev 22:12 And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.
Jesus is coming back to reward us. Jesus has given us an assignment and at the end of the assignment, a review of the account will be carried out, an analysis of how you have done your work will be done and you will be rewarded according to what you have done. I want to ask you today, are you doing the assignment that God has given to you? are you carrying out the responsibility that God has put in your hands, are you doing the work of God for the kingdom sake? Are you doing it or you are folding your hands and giving excuses? Child of God you have equal opportunity until Christ comes again or until you enter the other side of eternity. Time is running out and the opportunity has been given to you is waiting, you cannot stop now. You cannot afford to give excuses, you must continue to pursue the kingdom agenda, because time is of the essence. Wake up from your slumber, wake up from your idleness, wake up from sitting idle and folding your arms and giving excuses for all kinds of things that are happening around us and begin to do the assignment that God has given to you. I don’t know where you are reading this right now, but I come with a holy unction, to let you know that God does not want you to be idle, God says I should speak to you as a prophet this day. Beware of the danger of doing nothing. Are you among those who are full of excuses? What are you doing to advance the kingdom of God? Beloved, I’ve come to challenge you today, beware of the danger of doing nothing. The Bible says he folded the mina in the napkin and went and hid it. Are you hiding your talent? Are you hiding your finances? Are you thinking of only yourself? Are you thinking of all that you want to do for yourself and family alone? Are you just planning for yourself? Child of God what of the kingdom? Remember, the most important thing in the heart of God is souls. Souls must be won for Christ before they cross into the other side of eternity. Beware of the danger of doing nothing. That wicked servant folded his hands and kept his talents used. Are you keeping your talents? Are you hoarding your skills? Are you keeping away from what God should be happy about from the people who God loves? Dear child of God, do not fold your hands. Do not keep your talents, don’t just sit down in one seat and be the complainant and be watching without doing anything. Instead I want to encourage you, it is time to begin to do something, because the time is short. Money Lord help us all. In the mighty name of Jesus. Let us pray, In the mighty name of Jesus, I commit the children into your hands, Lord, I ask that everyone that is lukewarm, everyone that is slacking, everyone that had missed their assignments, those that have missed their way, those that seemed seem to be overwhelmed by the activities of this world right now Father, I pray for all those that have been pushed to a corner because of the sudden appearance of COVID-19, Father I ask that a holy fire come upon them again, Father, let revelation be given to them again. Father rekindle that fire, rekindle that desire to serve you, rekindle the passion in them Oh Lord, to do your work, to do all of the assignments that you have given to them. Father, that you will give them the grace to be able to do it well and carry them out effectively and excellently I ask oh Lord for the spirit of excellence to come upon them wherever they are in the mighty name of Jesus. And finally, Lord, I asked for the resources oh Lord, resources – money, men, materials. Father, everything that will need to succeed even in this assignment Lord. Lord let it be supplied to them. Lord, I ask that every plan of the enemy concerning them, Lord, to cut them short because they want to wake up to do that assignment that will affect the kingdom of darkness, father I break and uproot such powers in the mighty name of Jesus, today Lord, I released them back into the vineyard of the lord, Father I release them back into the marketplace and lift them back into all the spheres of life, you have called them to do their jobs. Father Lord, they will succeed, father help them to succeed in Jesus’ mighty name. amen
